Looking for answers to general questions about Naturopathic Medicine?

What Can I Expect on a First Visit?

Please read about what a first visit to a naturopath would be like.

Are Your Services Covered by OHIP?

Naturopathic visits are not covered by OHIP. However, most extended health benefits packages cover visits to licensed naturopathic doctors up to a certain amount per family member per year. Consult your benefits package for details.

Why Don"t You Have a Receptionist?

Savings and benefits are passed on to patients when overhead is kept to a minimum and the practice is run as efficiently as possible. Dr. Esposito has adopted the Ideal Medical Practice model. This type of practice enhances doctor-patient relationships, increases face-to-face time between doctor and patient and instills patients with a sense of responsibility for their own health. In addition, by utilizing technology such as online booking, online faxing, email and EMR, the practice becomes more efficient and more focus can then be placed upon the needs of the patient.

Obviously, when Dr. Esposito is meeting with a patient she is unable to answer a call. She directs patients who call to leave a detailed phone message as if they were talking to a receptionist. Dr. Esposito returns their call within 24 hours (or sooner if urgent) and they are able to talk with her personally. Unlimited email access is also available as a means of communication.

Are You Accepting New Patients?

Yes. Dr. Esposito gratefully accepts new patients. No referral is necessary to see a naturopathic doctor. Thank you for your trust and confidence in us.

Do you Offer Home Visits?

Why Isn"t Your Practice in a Hospital or Institutional Setting?

The clinic is part of the historic downtown core of Sault Ste. Marie and resides in a recently renovated beautiful older home which was built in 1917. Dr. Esposito"s goal was to create a warm, inviting, and comforting environment for visitors and patients. It harkens back to the days when neighbourhood doctors practiced out of their homes and developed long-lasting relationships with their patients.

Why Arent"s There Any Testimonials On This Site?

The advertising policy set out by the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy does not permit the use of testimonials in our advertisements.

Why Do You Sell Supplements Out of Your Clinic?

Patients always have a choice whether they wish to purchase products from the clinic dispensary or obtain the products elsewhere. Patients are informed when products can be found at local stores and are not required to purchase from the clinic.

By having a dispensary on-site Dr. Esposito is able to customize the treatments given. For example, she can choose which herbs are best for you to make a botanical tincture rather than having to pick from generalized product mixtures. This ensures that you are not receiving a "cookie cutter approach."

This way Dr. Esposito is also able to ensure that you are getting the exact treatment and dose prescribed. Our experience has been that when patients are referred to health food stores they often are "coached" into buying either different products than prescribed or additional products.

Only professional line products are used in our clinic. This means that these products are sold only to medical or naturopathic doctors. Professional line products are registered with Health Canada, undergo rigorous testing and submit to independent party evaluations. Products you find on the shelves generally do not carry that ensurance.

Finally, we have found that patients often appreciate this service because it is an added convenience when they can leave the clinic with a treatment in hand.

The disensary is run as a service for patients of the clinic. Products are marked up only enough to cover expenses associated with the dispensary (shipping, time/inventory, etc.). Supplements are not the focus of treatment, but merely complement treatment. Dr. Esposito believes in using only supplements that are necessary and rotating between supplements to avoid having patients leave with a "bag full of supplements."

How Can I Book An Appointment?

You have three options: 1) Call (705) 575-7560 2) Email or 3) Book Online.

New patients are required to fill out health forms prior to the visit in order to provide Dr. Esposito with initial background information. The forms will be sent to you once you set up the appointment.
