Medical Lab Tests Offered

Medical Lab Tests

At Algoma Natural Healing Clinic we believe that medical lab tests are a key aspect in diagnosis and assessment. Along with your symptoms and the various factors contributing to your health condition, laboratory testing provides an additional piece of the puzzle. Lab tests help us determine what may be out of balance physiologically and they are also an excellent preventive tool. Earlier detection allows for earlier treatment. Appropriate lab testing has the potential to save lives and improve quality of life.

Algoma Natural Healing Clinic offers a wide variety of medical lab tests, from conventional blood and urine tests to more specialized testing. Dr. Esposito works with you to determine which clinical lab tests are necessary for you.

Our clinic uses state of the art medical laboratories, such as The Great Plains Laboratory, Doctors Data Inc., Rocky Mountain Analytical and IGeneX Inc. These laboratories are world renowned for their high quality testing, accuracy and sensitivity.

Conventional Testing - LifeLabs

These tests are carried out by LifeLabs, located at 44 Great Northern Road (Cambrian Mall). A $15 lab fee is charged in addition to the individual lab test costs. Essentially, a naturopathic doctor can order the same blood and urine tests as your General Practitioner.

These tests help you understand your individual diet needs by evaluating your overall nutritional status, assessing your functional need for vitamins and minerals, and providing recommendations for supplementation.

Testing for Lyme Disease

Tests for Lyme Disease are very controversial and often either not very specific or sensitive. Lyme bacteria are not always detectable in whole blood, even in active disease and antibodies may only be present for a short time. IgeneX is a lab based in California that specializes in testing for Lyme Disease.

Test Panels by Condition

Great Plains Laboratory offers the option of panels - groupings of tests - according to condition. If ordering more than one test this option saves money and time. The most common panels include the following:
