The traditional approach to patient teaching and education is one that directs information "at" the patient. The goal is to have the patient do the things prescribed for them to do. Health or motivational coaching, by contrast, guides patients to talk about what is most troubling to them about their conditions, what they most want to change, what support they have to foster change, and what obstacles or difficulties must be removed or minimized to advance healthy behaviors. It is about asking the right questions to guide the individual towards choosing the solutions that are right for them.

You"ve probably noticed this in your own life: you are more likely to accomplish a goal if you are being held accountable. Accountability is a motivating factor for success. Your relationship with a health coach provides that accountability factor because you know there"s someone there that cares enough to "call you out and keep you honest".

Dr. Esposito now offers consultations by phone and online video conferencing. These new mediums allow for people outside of Sault Ste. Marie - essentially all over the world - to benefit from naturopathic medicine and her health coaching.

If you search the internet you"ll come across hundreds of "health coaches" offering their services, sometimes charging thousands of dollars. The advantage of booking with Dr. Esposito is that you know you will be consulting with a real doctor, one that is licensed and registered. As well, Dr. Esposito charges the same fees for telephone and online consultations as she does for in-person visits so you know you are not being taken advantage of.

Dr. Esposito will answer general questions, help interpret lab results, and provide specific recommendations regarding natural treatment interventions.

Please note that due to the nature of telephone and online consultations, Dr. Esposito does not diagnose via these mediums, but rather provides suggestions for treatment options with your local health care provider. Although Dr. Esposito is trained as a primary care physician she acts as a complementary practitioner under these circumstances since she cannot provide needed physical examinations or laboratory testing. Dr. Esposito highly recommends that you are under the care of a local primary care physician that can provide these in-person services for you.

Cancellation Policy: As with in-person visits, please provide at least 24 hours notice of any cancellations. I appreciate more time than 24 hours if you know in advance that you can not make it. If you do not cancel within 24 hours, and the reason is not an emergency you will be charged half the amount of your visit.
