Your Naturopathic Doctor

Candice Esposito, HBSc., ND

Candice

Hello. My name is Candice Esposito and I wish to welcome you to HealingClinic.ca. I created this site to share my passion for natural medicine, to inform others about naturopathic health care and to develop an online home for my naturopathic practice, Algoma Natural Healing Clinic.

I was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. I am proud and grateful to have the opportunity to return home to this beautiful northern community, close to my family, to set up my business - my naturopathic medical practice. I am proud to be part of the Algoma community and commited to serving its residents for the long-term.

I completed my pre-medical undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Biology. I had a desire to become a doctor, but it wasn't until I learned about the principles of naturopathic medicine that I truly became confident in my career choice and focused on my goal of achieving it. The holistic approach of naturopathic medicine and the opportunity it allowed to blend both my love for the sciences and the arts resonated with me.

In order to help finance my desire to attend medical school, I worked three jobs during the year prior to my enrollment. One of these jobs was as a personal support worker in a retirement home. This experience helped confirm my belief in the strong need for integrative medicine and fueled my passion to initiate changes in society's idea of health.

I completed a four year program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, one of two accredited naturopathic colleges in Canada. What I have learned about naturopathic medicine is, in large part, due to the wonderful and dedicated teachers and collegues I had the honour of being with during my four years at the college. I received awards for Academic excellence and, at graduation, was given the Homeopathy Award for excellence in that modality, and an award for Best Case Report.

My clinical experience includes working as an intern at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and the Anishnawbe Health Centre, both in Toronto. I have completed further training and certification in intravenous therapy, Biotherapeutic Drainage, Bioregulatory Medicine, Quantum Touch therapy, Chinese herbology, and Functional Medicine.

I am licensed with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy and registered with both the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

I have a special interest in mental and emotional health concerns such as depression, anxiety and social phobia; however I am most interested in the personal story the patient presents to me, how the patient uniquely experiences his or her condition. I believe in treating the whole person through individualized, gentle, educative care. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to be my patients' health partner.

I am a naturopathic doctor who helps patients realize their innate ability to achieve optimal health through understandable communication, active listening, health education, increased patient accessibility, holistic treatment plans and by recognizing each person as unique and individual.

Thank you for visiting HealingClinic.ca, for taking time to read about naturopathic medicine and the benefits it has to offer. I thank you for your time and interest, and for considering myself and Algoma Natural Healing Clinic.

Please feel free to call, (705) 575-7560, or email me with any questions.

I look forward to working with you on your new path to health.

Sincerely,
Candice
